4 ways to get aligned AF with your business and branding

Have you ever released a killer program/course/class/opt-in/etc that didn’t quite make the kind of splash (or money!) that you expected? Of course. We all have, right? You probably reworked it, repackaged it, switched up the wording, got more aligned with it, changed the pricing structure, or something else along those lines.

But what if your launches fall short more often than not? THAT is enough to leave any entrepreneur scratching her head and shaking her fist, while asking herself WHY?! If you’re do all the things in your business with little return, it may be time to take a look at your branding because it’s likely you’re not energetically aligned with it.

First, let’s dig into what branding looks like and means for an entrepreneur. What is branding? Branding is the essence of a business. It’s the sum total of all the different parts that comprise how people view and respond to your business, and as an entrepreneur, how they view and respond to you. We’re talking everything – your message, your grammar, the pictures you choose, and your entire social media presence, which includes your fonts, color palette, and overall design of your graphics, website, logo, etc. If you really think about it, it’s obvious how crucial it is to be in alignment with your branding.

With that mind, I’ve put together a list of 4 ways to get energetically aligned af with your business and branding. Read through them to see if you’re doing all the right things and have all the right tools in place to really be rocking and rolling in your business.

Number 1: Make a Plan

If even the sound of making a plan makes your eyes glaze over and your mind wander to what’s his name in Aquaman, then I’m guessing you need to make one. A plan gives you direction, helps keep you focused, and gives you a way to track your shit. Think about it. If what you focus on and give attention to expands, why wouldn’t you want to do that for your biz? It’s kind of a no-brainer, right?

Start small. You’re not trying to schedule every second of every day, here, but having a general game plan for the next 30 days is going to be helpful and give you an easy way to really plug into your business, for what could be the very first time.  Grab a calendar and get to writing.  What appointments to you already have scheduled?  Do your kids have field trips or holidays?  Are you launching?  If you are, map it out!  How much money are you going to make?  Jot down a rough outline of your month ahead.

Now here’s the kicker.  You actually have to look at it.  Every day.  Not every other day or when you remember.  Every day.  By doing that, you stay connected with the goings-on of your biz.  You can easily adjust your strategy, if need be, or stay on top of tasks.  Again, the point is not to be rigid or rob you of your entrepreneurial freedom.  It’s about  keeping your finger on the pulse of your business and about getting shit done.  Plus, it’s a lot more difficult to align with anything that’s willy nilly and disconnected.

Number 2: How can you have more fun?

No, I’m serious.  How can you infuse more fun into your day?  Why is this even a thing?  Because people, especially entrepreneurs, get stuck in the hustle.  Don’t do that.  A good friend of mine once said, “You can’t hustle your way back into alignment.”  In fact, the more you hustle, and the more you push to make things happen, the more out of alignment you become, which makes you think you have to work harder to make stuff happen in your business, which, yep, takes you farther away from that sweet, sweet place called alignment.  It’s a vicious cycle that ends in burnout every single time.

Now, back to the question.  How can you have more fun?  How can you find more joy in your business, even in the day to day?  What do you love to do?  Go live in your FB group?  Write incredible content for your next ebook?  Dance around your house to 90’s jams in between client calls?  Perhaps it’s throwing on a pair of heels with your yoga pants to make yourself feel sexy af.  Find something that you love to do and fucking do it as often as you can.  More fun.  Less hustle.

Number 3: Review Your Current Offerings and Opt-ins

Remember that terrible opt-in you threw together, just so you had something to help you grow your list?  Well, it’s time to pull that bad boy out.  If you have any passive offers or freebies hanging out on your website that you haven’t touched in two years or less, it’s likely that you’ve energetically migrated away from one or more elements of it since you looked at it last.  

Take this opportunity to go through everything you have and spruce it up.  Upgrade the copy, the images.  Create fresh pins and other social media marketing graphics using unique design elements to make your biz stand out. Number 4: Re-brand yo’ self

This is the ultimate way to get and stay in energetic alignment with your business.  Whether you’re still using the same logo that you made the same day you also threw together that opt-in or if you’ve paid for professional branding services, you could still be hugely out of alignment with it.  The typography, color palette, textures, mood, graphics, etc of your logo, collateral, and website may not be energetically compatible with you and your message.  What does that mean?  The more energetically aligned you are with your branding and business, the clearer your message will come across to your target audience and the more ideal clients will flock to you.
